Earn free college credits right here at Southbridge High School!

Early College Southbridge (ECS) is a tuition-free partnership between Southbridge Public Schools and Quinsigamond Community College (QCC). Through this program, high school students can earn transferable college credits on an official QCC transcript while simultaneously satisfying high school graduation requirements (MassCore)—all during the regular school day.

Located Right in Our Building

Classes are held on-site at the QCC Southbridge Campus, located conveniently on the first floor of Southbridge Middle High School. Designed specifically for college-level learning, this dedicated space operates separately from general high school classrooms and features its own distinct signage, entrance area, and security officer. (In rare instances where specialized courses are held at QCC’s main Worcester campus, free transportation to and from SHS is provided.)

Specialized Pathways & Course Offerings

Students can explore four distinct academic and career pathways designed to help them earn at least 12 college credits:

• Medical Professions: Intro to Medical Terminology (ALH 102), General Biology (BIO 101), Topics in Health Studies (FYE 102), Intro to Public Health (PHA 101), Intro to Psychology (PSY 101)

• Information Technology (IT): IT Help Desk Concepts (CSC 105), Intro to Microcomputer Applications (CIS 111), College Algebra (MAT 100)

• Education & Teaching: Early Childhood Education (ECE 101), First Year Experience (FYE 101), English Composition I (ENG 101)

• Exploratory / General Studies: Intro to Criminal Justice (CRJ 101), Intro to Sociology (SOC 101), Statistics (MAT 122)
