Pathway Exploration Policy
Preparing Our 8th Graders for High School and Beyond!
Southbridge Public Schools is dedicated to helping our students discover their future career and educational pathways. Throughout their final year at Southbridge Middle School, all 8th graders participate in comprehensive Guidance Seminars. These sessions focus on developing personal learning profiles and identifying career interests to guide their next steps.
To support this exploration, our students participate in interactive experiences during the first semester, including:
- Campus Explorations: Visiting Southbridge High School to learn about course options, the fine arts program, and early college programs available through the satellite partnership with Quinsigamond Community College.
- Vocational Tours: Taking a firsthand look at technical education and career pathways through a guided tour of Bay Path Regional Vocational Technical High School.
Note: The Bay Path campus tour takes place during normal school hours. Signed parental permission forms are required for student participation.
