School Committee

 

 

The Town of Southbridge invites interested residents to apply for an interim appointment to the Southbridge
School Committee following the resignation of an elected representative.

This vacancy will be filled by an appointment made jointly by the Town Council and School Committee,
pursuant to the provisions of the Southbridge Home Rule Charter Chapter 3 Section 2:
Vacancies in the elected town boards established under this charter shall be filled by the town council in joint
convention with the remaining members of the respective board within sixty days unless a regular town election
shall occur within one hundred and twenty days, but only until the next town election.

Candidates will be interviewed during a February 3, 2025, joint meeting of the Town Council and Southbridge
School Committee. Applications will be accepted up to January 30, 2025, although candidates are encouraged
to submit their interest sooner.
