Southbridge Public Schools Partners with Healey-Driscoll Admin For Early College Program

SOUTHBRIDGE, MA — Southbridge Public Schools is pleased to announce the district

has received an early college designation from the Healey-Driscoll administration!

Early College Southbridge, a partnership between Southbridge Public Schools and Quinsigamond Community College, will provide academic, personal, social, and professional opportunities that broaden our students’ expectations, skills, and opportunities for college and career.

Programming currently supports four pathways for students to explore career fields including education/teaching, information technology and medical professions, as well as a general exploratory path.

Early College Southbridge also offers a support program to help students engage with key skills to support their success, including motivational speeches, time management, retaining lecture information, textbook use, and other skills.

The Massachusetts Early College program prepares high school students for entering college by allowing them to take cost-free college courses and earn credits. According to the governor’s office, the program increases college enrollment and completion rates.
